Since we are preparing for the official exchange launch of IOTA, we need to make sure that the influx of new users will feel "welcome". Most importantly, since IOTA and the Tangle is such a novel new concept, we need to make sure that people get it.
As such, we need to create more tutorials, walkthroughs and getting started guides. Especially the latter are incredibly important in ensuring that newcomers have material ready for them to learn more about IOTA and get started without any major hiccups (or even worse, financial losses).
Because the core members are insanely busy at this stage, I would very much appreciate it if a few people from the community stand up to take this initiative and help lead this effort in creating more easy to digest material about IOTA.
What I specifically am looking forward to is the following:
Getting Started Guide: Installation instructions with pictures as well as common problems that may occur during the installation
IOTA Do's and Don'ts: A general guide on IOTA, what to do and what not to do. This can be similar to glossary or an FAQ. What I would really like, is a walkthrough website. If anyone of you knows some HTML, CSS and JS, I can help assist in setting this up.
Interactive website that playfully explains some of the concepts of IOTA (can be in questionnaire style and if the person answered correctly they will get a reward in the end).
- Developer Tutorials: Specifically focused on Proof of Concepts and applications that utilize IOTA.
Just a few suggestions, feel free to come up with your own ideas
How to go about doing this
As mentioned, what I suggest is that a small "task force" will be formed that will dedicate some of their time on creating tutorials. In order to ensure that the material is correct, core can take a look and potentially even assist in creating some of the tutorials (if I have the time, I will personally help with a "Get Started" walkthrough website).
One of the prerequisites is of course that you speak and write good english.
As I have mentioned previously, in order to make this more fun we will set out a financial reward. The foundation itself will sponsor $250 for these tutorials (at $20m mkt cap). I personally will dedicate $200 of my previous bounty towards this purpose as well.
TOTAL BOUNTY TO BE COLLECTED: $450
If anybody else wants to chime in, please leave me a message and donate to the following addresses:
How to collect
Simply post below what tutorial you want to work on and how much you want for it, or you can say that the Foundation can decide how much they will pay you. Upon completion you will then be paid. As easy as that.
Lets get this rolling
