You could try first (a bit technical)
- Shutdown IOTA Wallet
- Edit settings.json (found under C:\Users\%yourusername%\AppData\Roaming\IOTA Wallet\settings.json
-> look for: "lightWalletHost" and "lightWalletPort"
- Restart IOTA Wallet

You could alternatively/further try
- Shutdown/kill IOTA Wallet
- Delete settings.json (see above)
- Restart IOTA Wallet -> a new default settings.json will be created, like on first start

or finally full uninstall
- Shutdown IOTA Wallet
- Uninstall the wallet (Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> IOTA Wallet -> Uninstall)
- Delete all files under C:\Users\%yourusername%\AppData\Roaming\IOTA Wallet
- Delete all files under C:\Users\%yourusername%\AppData\Local\Programs\iota
=> AFAIK now there should be no traces left

Reboot (it's Windows, so ...)
Install IOTA Wallet (https://github.com/iotaledger/wallet/releases)

Yea tried this one, still the same. Apperantly the problem is not in the host. What else could it be?

Do you see the Login screen? Do you get an error message? ...

When I delete the settings.jsn file and enter wallet I get to choose between Light node and full Node, I choose light, then I enter the host, click start, and this message appears.

Hmm, difficult case... AFAIK there was a problem "Could not load light wallet functionality" in an older version.
But this should be fixed in 2.3.0
If you don't have security software that could be blocking the wallet, then I'm out of ideas.

Hey Boris. Sorry to hear you've been running into so much trouble.

Could you open the Web Inspector and check the console for error messages? There should be some additional messages in the Console that will help to identify the problem.

The error message that you're seeing indicates that the wallet was unable to load one of the Javascript libraries or components for the light wallet functionality. Looking at the corresponding JS function, it looks like there's a fair amount of console.log'ing going on before it calls showLightWalletErrorMessage (which displays the "Could not load light wallet functionality" error).

If you can post the console messages from your wallet, that will help us to diagnose the problem.

Nothing written in the console This is before I enter the host. Afterwards I'm unable of clicking anything from the drop menu.

I'm thinking of installing the wallet on another PC, save the seed and delete the wallet. Make like paper wallet. It would solve the problem.

I also tried launching the wallet with inactive antivirus and antimalware, still the same message appears.

I had a working wallet that stopped working in the same fashion on Windows 10. My daughter also tried to load the lite wallet on her Macbook and got the exact same message. My point is this is a much bigger problem than just bobi5796 having an issue with it. I have not been able to solve it.

I just assisted someone else on iotatangle.slack.com with the same problem via Teamviewer. Downloaded and installed the latest version of JRE 8 and the problem is solved.
