PyOTA v2.0.4 is coming out soon. There are a few changes in this release that might or might not be backwards-incompatible, depending on your application(s).
The following methods will be renamed:
The original methods will remain available until PyOTA v2.1 (e.g., you can still call
TryteString.from_string until PyOTA v2.1), but they now trigger DeprecationWarnings. Depending on how your application handles warnings, these might or might not get converted into exceptions.
To avoid any issues, please do one of the following:
- (temporary fix) Add
pyota < 2.0.4 to your project’s
- (permanent fix) Add
pyota >= 2.0.4 to your project’s
requirements.txt file and update your code to use the renamed methods once PyOTA 2.0.4 is released.
If you’d like to test how your application will handle the DeprecationWarnings, you can install the latest development build:
pip install -e 'git+https://github.com/iotaledger/iota.lib.py.git@develop#egg=PyOTA'
(if you are not using any of the renamed methods, then you can safely disregard this warning)
