This is not the best fix but it is a fix nonetheless. As long as you can sell your IOTA and get minimum of $5, then sell it on bitfinex and then buy EOS which is around $10 for a single unit. With your EOS then send it to an EOS wallet on a different exchange/Jar/service and sell there.
I just took a long position on EOS of only 2.4 EOS tokens so as to test why bitfinex is discriminating against IOTA regarding minimums.
EOS doesn’t have the crazy minimum 24 buy-in rule but in saying this you might want to contact bitfinex and then wait a week+ for them to get back to you with their answer re the minimum EOS buy in.
I know this isn’t much of a fix as I want IOTA to succeed and I don’t advocate other crypto with fees etc however I can’t fathom why bitfinex set the minimum IOTA buy at 24. Their 24 buy-in rule just doesn’t make sense, and they offer no reason.
EDIT 4HRS LATER. No, DON’T sell to buy EOS as EOS minimum buy in is 2 EOS tokens. That means the cost is around $16US. Everything I’ve suggested above is just plain wrong so please ignore it.
What this could mean is that bitfinex won’t do any trades under $15. So yes, small amounts still stuck there.
